Ann Elliot Cutting: On the Run

Check out these outakes for April ’09’s Runner’s World story on nutrition tips. Creative Marc Kauffman sought Ann to shoot some creative concepts reflecting post run eating for the Fuel section of RW. Click on the article Custom Order to see the final shot. Now if we could only get our gym lockers to feed us after a hard run.

How’s that for a box of heart shaped treats? Running in the Fuel section of the February ’09 issue, this shot complimented an article on heart smart food choices.

CUBA is HOT HOT HOT

Two of HE’s photographers made trips to Cuba in the later part of ’08. Same location, completely different interpretations. Both inspire the urge to take the next plane out to Cuba’s oasis of vibrant color and culture.

AB Rich Cardinali and AD Billy Faraut, JWT called upon Hunter Freeman to take their Benadryl campaign to new heights. Take a cardboard airplane, aviator goggles and an iridescent cape, put them all together with Hunter behind the lens. Final product is a guaranteed soaringly pleased client.

Continuing their fun and funny campaign, Dailey & Associates, recently wrapped this next shot in the Quickbooks series. Who ever thought the idea of balancing your books could evoke a chuckle? Thanks Hunter, we needed that.

Up, Up and Away

In keeping with our airborne theme, David Martinez created this light hearted shot for AT&T with Haggin Marketing & Dan Capriles.

Following suit, another joyous moment, this time created for Zales with The Richards Group’ s Kerstin Fredrickson, AB and Craig Anderson, AD. Looks like an exuberant YES.

Springing into Summer 08

Capturing the Globe, One Pixel at a Time

Andy Anderson, our world traveler, recently shot a four ad campaign for Pfizer in collaboration with Zig Ideas in Toronto, Canada. Cameras and crew trekked to Santiago, Chile. Creatives included CD Martin Beauvais, AD Niall Kelly and AB Heather Morton.

From Chile Andy headed north to Tequila, Mexico where he photographed an entire new body of work.

Andy wrapped up the South American tour by heading east to Asia on an around the world campaign for Western Union and Changing Faces Design. Shooting in Hong Kong, Guatamala, the Philipines and India, he left behind a trail of stunning imagery.

Last stop, New York City, USA. Andy changed up the pace photographing in and around the metropolitan area. This time, in collaboration with MRM Partners’ AB Amita Sehgal and CD Felix Burgos, shooting a library for Verizon.


The Apple of our Eye

It’s going on 10 years since Hunter Freeman started shooting with Apple. In studio and on location at Apple in Cupertino, CA, Hunter’s images are iconic Apple mainstays. His Apple Ipod Nano image can be seen on in-store promotional pieces across the country.

Dailey and Associates QuickBooks campaign taps into Hunter’s humor and sharp crafting of highly stylized stories. This shot nabbed Hunter a Prix de la Photographie Paris award for 2nd Place in the Advertising Pro Product category, click here to see the contenders-

Mesmerizing Minnesota

Sunset Books and David Bowman shot at the Greyhound museum in Hibbing, Minnesota. Curator, founder and collector of everything Greyhound, Gene Nicolleli built the museum along with his architect son and fellow Greyhound enthusiasts.

Highlighting tidbits from both commercial and personal projects, such as the 29th Annual International Eelpout Festival at Leech Lake in Walker, MN, David journals on his personal blog Aqua City

Around February in MN, when the lakes freeze over and it’s 20 degrees below 0, racing fans hit the ice on wheels. David’s Ice Culture series will be in the CA Photo Annual this Fall 2008.

The success of the Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, CO Spring ’08 VW ads, produced in collaboration with creatives Hillary Jackson, AB and DJ Pearce, AD, contributed to Jim’s most recent commission to shoot again for the Summer ’08 campaign. The first series of images was shot in San Francisco. This time around Jim will be shooting in New York City.

Jim Smithson and Urban Reprieve

Westin Hotels and Deutsch Inc., NY recently commissioned Jim Smithson to shoot an inventive outdoor campaign that transformed NYC subway cars and metropolitan commercial lobbies from every day urban blithe into gateways to paradise. Jim’s photography expedition captures a dichotomous range from the tropical seas and lush rainforests of Costa Rica to the snow covered mountains and icy glaciers of Greenland.

Coasting at Lightening Speed

August 2007, Andy Anderson photographed Speed Week on the Salt Flats in Wendover Utah. Gathering annually from across the country and around the world, Andy joined thousands of speed demons, who convened in the race to try and beat Land Speed records.

  • Andy continues to work on his “Sideshow Collection.” His last trip to Gibsonton, Florida (home of the last known sideshow in America) allowed him to shoot the additional images he needs to finish the piece. The expected date of completion is Fall, 2005.

  • Her work was recently featured in a group show at The Henry Fonda Theater titled “Illegal Art” She has received awards from IPA and was a featured artist on Photoserve.

  • David just completed a project for Fallon in Minneapolis for St. Paul Travelers Insurance. His other work for Fallon includes a month long project for Bahamas Tourism

  • Hunter has offered his time to shoot portraits for $150 with the proceeds giong to the victims of Katrina – if you are interested in this, give his studio a call at 415.252.1910. When he did this after September 11th, he was able to raise over $5000 and hopes to do the same this time.


Noel Barnhurst

  • Noel has been shooting recently for Williams Sonoma, Safeway, Publix and has even sold a large collection of his images to Apple Computers.
