In an effort to promote the website FreelanceArtProducer.com, we have started Freelance Friday.  The purpose is to promoting the freelancers on the site so as to gain more attention for them and the others trying to get hired.  So, from now on, when a freelancer on the site provides us with a blog post, we will promote it on a Friday.

Today, we are featuring Tania Pirozzi, an art producer who started her career in editorial and retail and is not venturing over to the agency side.  Her She gained her experience at Esquire, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Town and Country and Departures.  She also has e-comm experience as she was the sole producer for BHLDN for Anthropologie.  Those credits alone will help her navigate the wide world of agency art production, no problem!

To learn more about Tania, be sure to read on.  And,  if you think  her post is interesting or the site is helpful, please do share it and let your art producer friends know about this new resource.  And, if you do share it, let us know that you have done so.  We have a little something for you to say thank you.
Where are you searching for photography or other content needs nowadays?
Instagram, magazines, blogs, artists reps, friends.  My eyes are always open so I’m on the lookout all the time.

What are you known for in the art buying/producing world?
My ability to get it done and my positive energy.  I really do believe in having a good time at work and I try to force that philosophy down the throats of my crew.

Do you have a motto?
BRING IT ON.

How about a favorite place to produce a shoot?
I don’t know that I have a favorite place.  I love the challenges of producing in different locations.  But I will say that I had a blast in Cape Town.  I had a great local producer team there (10-4 Africa) and, I mean, you can’t beat that scenery!  And the food, and the wine, and the accents…

If you decided not to art produce any longer, what would you choose to do?
I’d still want to have my hand in something creative but I don’t know what that would be.  Interior design maybe?  Home blogs and real estate listings are my porn!

How do you describe your job to your mom or someone else not in the industry?
The easiest way to describe it is to say that I’m a project manager.  I handle location, crew, logistics, budget, deadlines, and of course, make sure the deliverables match the brief.

What are some surprising facts about you that you would like to share?
I’m fluent in Italian and I harbor dreams of being a writer.  But I’m not so talented in the word department.

What is the last piece of creative that caught your attention?
The Smirnoff commercial with the hipsters describing the origin of the Moscow Mule.  It’s just like every hipster conversation I hear, and I feel like I’m seeing Moscow Mules show up on the menu of the hippest bars.  I think the ad is spot on.

What do you love about your job?
I love meeting and working with new people.  And of course seeing it all come together is so rewarding.

What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday?
It really depends.  If there’s a craft fair around I’ll hit that up.  Or brunch with friends.  Or the ultimate indulgence: grabbing a book and parking myself in a cozy coffee shop.
