Pugs, Bloody Marys, and Photography -Freelance Friday features Erin Norbury

In an effort to promote the website FreelanceArtProducer.com, we have started Freelance Friday.  The purpose is to promote the freelancers on the site so as to gain more attention for them and the others trying to get hired.  So, from now on, when a freelancer on the site provides us with a blog post, we will promote it on a Friday.

Where are you searching for photography or other content needs nowadays?
I’m attached to my phone. I love Instagram! I follow some amazing talent and I love seeing what they are up to personally and professionally.

What are you known for in the art buying/producing world?
Strong organization, seamless and relaxed shoots and remaining calm under pressure.

Do you have a motto?
Pugs not drugs.

How about a favorite place to produce a shoot?
California. I love everything (except the traffic) about California!

If you decided not to art produce any longer, what would you choose to do?
I would open an animal shelter.

How do you describe your job to your mom or someone else not in the industry?
I say that I produce photography shoots which entails hiring and coordinating photographers, stylists, models, locations, etc. Most people usually end up thinking I’m the photographer though!

What are some surprising facts about you that you would like to share?
It’s not very surprising, though I consider myself an amateur pug photographer! I’m obsessed with taking pictures of my dogs and adjusting the filter and light when necessary. I’m going to put together a book soon!

What is the last piece of creative that caught your attention?
Diego Uchitel’s Aveda Campaign. It’s simple and elegant.

What do you love about your job?
I love to travel! I also love working with creative, down to earth talent and watching them come together as a team to make beautiful pictures. It is very inspiring and a lot of fun.

What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday?
Either with my pugs and a Bloody Mary or at a Festival with friends.
Where are you searching for photography or other content needs nowadays?
LinkedIn, Agency websites, colleagues!
